Your Vintage Life is based in Bedfordshire and run by Kate and Adam. We both started getting into vintage clothing in our teens, customising old 60s retro dresses bought from charity shops and collecting 70s flared suits and platform shoes. Individuality was the key! Setting up home in our late 20s, the obsession stretched to furniture, curtains, glasswear and china. Now we are in our 30s it's apparent we are not going to grow out of it...even our 2 year old has an amazing collection of vintage Fisher Price toys and a chopper waiting for him when he's old enough. So we have decided to give into the obsession and share our treasures with the rest of world. We love all things vintage, from the clothes we wear, to the cars we drive, to everything in our home.
	Why buy vintage? Surrounding yourself with vintage will make you stand out from the crowd. Vintage fashion gives you your personal style, don't be afraid not to conform and to mix it up. You don't need to be a slave to one era either...just choose pieces you love, team them up with fab vintage jewellery, add an amazing bag and you're off. The same goes with your home. The Ikea mass produced era is gone and now is the time to fill your home with unusual pieces with a history to them. Drink your tea from a bone china teacup from the 30s, drink your wine from a 50s cocktail glass or go for a picnic with a wicker straw basket filled with 60s bright melamine. Do all this with the knowledge that vintage is the ultimate in recycling.......reduce your carbon footprint by re-using pieces often Made in Great Britain, produced in small quantities and give them a loving home rather than sending them to landfill.
